Stimulus Money for Roads in Mingo County

Charleston Senator Truman Chafin is please to announce that the federal stimulus bill will bring monty into the state for numerous road projects. Mingo County will see projects that are set to being within the next few months. Many of the projects will allow for the re-payments, drainage and ditch work of area roads. Some bridges are also set to be replaced with the funding.

One of the projects set to start this year is the First Hollow Bridge in Sharon Heights. The plan is to replace this bridge with a more up-to-date bridge. US 52 in Naugatuck will see improvements to the railroad crossings and approaches. US 52 is also set for numberous improvements in the Mountain View area. WV 65 will see some ditch and drainage work. Dingess Tunnel is set for some renovations along with replacement of RJ Market and America Church Bridges. US 199 will receive renovations to one of its signs, along with resurfacing, drain and ditch work.
