He has called for issuance of emergency food vouchers and/or establishment of emergency food banks administered by the National Guard who are already at work in this region.
Chafin said he has proposed that the Public Service Commission begin an investigation into the reasons that electricity could not be restored in a more timely fashion.
He thinks there are hard questions that need to be asked in an investigation about the upkeep of the power lines in the stricken areas and answers should be forthcoming without hesitation.
